Our office location
Our office is located in the "Westend",
a typical Munich neighbourhood, "workingclass", but pretty nice.
Shops, restaurants, companies and last, but not least, "normal" people
are just around the corner. The "Oktoberfest" is pretty close, and you
do not need longer than 10 minutes to the "Marienplatz" by taking the
subway.
Taxi
A taxi from the central station to our office
costs around 10€, from the airport it costs 50€. Simply ask the driver to
drop you at the hotel "Arabella Sheraton Westpark".
Please note that there is another hotel
called "Arabella Sheraton Bogenhausen". Definitely wrong if you want
to visit our office.
Public Transportation
Another option: Munich has a good and fast
transportation system, but the ticket system is quite complicated.
- From the airport to
our office you must buy a multiple ticket
"Streifenkarte" for ~12.00€, then you must cancel 8
of the 10 stripes for a one way ride. Or you buy a single ride ticket (~10€. The vending machine at the airport accepts all coins, and 5, 10 and 20€
notes. Tickets must be cancelled before going on the train, you find the blue boxes down at the train
platform
- If you want to use public transportation
downtown: The multiple ticket "Streifenkarte" costs ~12€ and has 10 stripes.
2 stripes are good for any ride within downtown. The tickets are also good
for S-Bahn, Metro, Trambahn and Bus, you can change between them as often as
you want. But you must go in one direction, no return, no circular ride,
otherwise you need to cancel again. The Tickets must be cancelled before going on the
S-Bahn or Metro, but you must cancel the ticket inside the Trambahn and the
bus. Complicated? Yes!
- Best is to buy a day ticket. There are
tickets for singles ("Tageskarte"), couples ("Partnerkarte"),
for a group up to 5 people ("Gruppenkarte"). To make it more
compßlicated for you, we have different classes ("Innenraum",
"XXL", "Total"), better to ask at a counter (Marienplatz,
Hauptbahnhof or Airport). By the way, you must cancel the ticket before you
use it.
- Don't go without ticket. Special personal
are checking the tickets on a random base. They have no uniforms, you will
not recognize them, and there is no way to escape. If you have no ticket, or
you have forgotten to cancel the ticket, or if the value of the ticket
wasn't enough: They will charge you 40€, they are friendly, but out of my
experience they accept no excuse.
From the Airport to Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof)
From
the airport you reach the central station with the train (S-Bahn) S1 or S8. You
can take any train that departs from the airport. Simply follow the green S.
After
45 Minutes ride you arrive at Munich Central (Hauptbahnhof).
From Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) to our
Office
Take subway U4 or U5, direction "Laimer Platz" or "Westendstraße". Leave
train at station "Heimeranplatz".
Our office is left to the hotel "Arabella Sheraton Westpark" (see
picture on top of this page).

Hotels
There is a business hotel next to our office: Arabella
Sheraton Westpark
It is modern, the rooms are nice and clean, it
has a good and expensive breakfast buffet, the SPA (pool etc.) is quite nice,
but it is a typical business hotel. If you don't like them, look for something in
your preferred hotel dictionary.
